Self-resetting Circuit breaker (RCD) for alternating and pulsating current, Type A-SI, 2-pole, 25A 30mA. Designed to guarantee safety and continuity of supply, it offers an intelligent solution to prevent interruptions in electrical installations due to insulation/shunt problems in homes, industries, and the service sector. It also protects people and equipment from ground faults.


Residual current device (RCD) with the option to choose between an automatic reset system, just like a standard RCD where reconnection must be performed manually. The automatic reconnection mode allows up to three reset attempts at 10-second/60-second/300-second intervals. The device only reconnects when the fault that caused the trip has disappeared. It has a system that emits a warning to indicate the end of automatic reset attempts. If the closure fails after 15 minutes, the auxiliary alarm signal is activated. It has a hole for passing a seal or padlock to block access to the RCD and any manual reconnection attempt.

After a trip due to an RCD trip, after a time delay, it evaluates whether the anomaly that caused the trip is temporary or permanent, performing a measurement to check for the existence of a leakage current. If the problem was a transient peak, the VDA-REC will attempt to reset the circuit after a few seconds. The device attempts to perform up to three measurements to check the leakage current; after this number of measurements is exceeded, the device is blocked and cannot automatically reconnect. Leakage current monitoring is performed by measuring the downstream resistance once the RCD has tripped.

This type of element is specifically designed for any electrical installation where full service continuity is required in the event of unforeseen situations that could trigger the RCD due to causes unrelated to electrical insulation. This is key in second homes, businesses that must remain operational, or facilities where a minor outage could cause disruption. Furthermore, by reducing the time without power, the deprogramming of electronic equipment, the interruption of critical systems, the loss of refrigerated food, or simply the inconvenience of being without power for an extended period of time are avoided.
